Liberal Wars: Anglo-American strategy, ideology and practice (Routledge), edited by Alan Cromartie at the University of Reading, has just been published (click title for more info). My chapter considers the similarities between the ways liberal states and non-liberal states have ideologically justified violence against civilians, focusing particularly on British and American aerial bombing in World War II and the post-war era.
